This study aims to determine the investigator's treatment of suspected criminal acts in the investigation process and to find out the policies provided by the Police to prevent violence in the investigation process against suspected criminal acts in the jurisdiction of the Lumajang Resort Police. The research method used is a juridical empirical research with a sociological juridical approach. The location of the research was carried out at the Lumajang Police Resort, especially in the Criminal Investigation Unit, where the location is a place for handling criminal acts in the investigation process. This study resulted, first, the treatment of investigators against suspected criminals in the investigation process at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Resort Police (Polres) of Lumajang Regency was in accordance with existing regulations. But on the other hand, sometimes investigators also lack or even do not provide information about the rights obtained by the suspect; second, formally, the policies given by the police to prevent violence in the investigation process against suspects have provided definite protection, but in the field sometimes these policies are ignored in order to achieve the objectives or maximum results of the investigation process.Downloads
